Automated Phone System

Using advanced voice recognition and security technology, the Wells Fargo Advantage Funds® Automated Phone System allows you to quickly and easily access quotes, account information and perform trades and transactions on your Wells Fargo Advantage Funds accounts. Speak your responses and the Automated Phone System will take care of the rest. The Automated Phone System is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling 1-800-368-7550.

Getting Started

Getting started with the Automated Phone System is easy. All you need is your Social Security number (SSN) and one of your Wells Fargo Advantage Funds account numbers. If you have previously registered for the the Automated Phone System (touch-tone only), you will need to reregister to use the new version of the Automated Phone System.

To begin registration, enter or say your SSN when prompted. If you are not already registered, you will be asked to confirm your SSN. After confirming your SSN, you will be asked to enter one of your account numbers. You can either use your touch-tone keypad or speak your account number.

Once your account number has been confirmed, you will be asked to select a 4-8 digit Personal Identification Number (PIN). When selecting your PIN, choose a number that only you know and is difficult for others to guess. Try not to use repeated or sequential digits (e.g., 1234 or 5555). Your PIN cannot be the last four digits of your SSN.

When you have finished selecting your PIN, you are ready to get started with the Automated Phone System. The voice prompts will guide you through the entire system. It's quick, easy, and secure. Once you become familiar with the system, feel free to interrupt at any time with your request.

Using the System

The Automated Phone System uses advanced voice recognition technology to retrieve quotes, access account information, and perform trades.

Within the Automated Phone System , you have access to the following:

  • Stock, fund, and option quotes
  • Purchases, exchanges, and redemptions on your Wells Fargo Advantage Funds account
  • Account balance and history review for your Wells Fargo Advantage Funds account
  • Review open orders and account history
  • Receive year-end tax information such as capital gains and dividends
  • Find historical returns and yields on your accounts

How do I access the Automated Phone System and when is it available?

Call 1-800-368-7550 to begin using the Automated Phone System. The Automated Phone System is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Is there a charge to use the Automated Phone System?

The Automated Phone System is free for all of our investors.

How do I register to use the Automated Phone System?

What can I say at the Main Menu?

"Check my balance"
- To hear your account balance.
"Positions"
- To hear your current holdings.
"Get a quote"
- To get a stock or mutual fund quote. You can also just say the name of the stock or fund at the main menu.
"Place an order"
- To buy or sell stocks or mutual funds.
"Representative"
- To speak to a Representative.
"Demonstration"
- To hear a demonstration of the Automated Phone System.
"Other Information"
- To review recent orders and transactions, change your PIN, or receive other information.
 

Can I enter any information using my touch-tone phone?

You can speak or use your touch-tone phone to enter your Social Security Number, PIN, account number, ticker symbol, price, or quantity. This is for security reasons. If you are in a public setting and do not wish others to hear this information, you may wish to use your touch-tone keypad.

What if the Automated Phone System doesn't understand what I am saying?

If the Automated Phone System has difficulty understanding what you are saying, it may ask you to repeat a phrase. If the Automated Phone System continues to have difficulty, it will connect you with a representative who can complete your request.

Can I use the same SSN and PIN for the Automated Phone System and online account access?

In order to utilize Online Account Access, you will need to register separately from the Automated Phone System. You can, however, use your SSN and the same PIN to access both systems as long as your PIN meets the requirements of both the Automated Phone System and Account Access.

What if I want to speak with a representative or need help while using the Automated Phone System?

If you need an in-depth explanation of the section you are in, say "help." If you need to speak with a representative at any time, you can say "representative" or "agent" and you will be connected with a representative who can assist you.

Can I listen to or view pending orders?

You are able to listen to pending orders by calling the Automated Phone System. You can also use Online Account Access to view pending Automated Phone System orders.

To review your order status in the Automated Phone System, say "Other Information" then "Current Orders" then "Review All Orders."

Order status for Online Account Access is located in the Trading area.

How do I get quotes without speaking?

After you login using touch-tones for your SSN and PIN, just enter the three digit fund number on your touch pad from the main menu. After hearing the quote, just enter the next fund number to get another quote.
