Wells Fargo Advantage Funds® Web Site Wins Nine STAR Awards
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – October 20, 2006 – The Wells Fargo Advantage Funds Web site has been honored with nine STAR Awards from the Mutual Fund Education Alliance (MFEA), including the award for Best Overall Communications by a Large Company. The awards were announced Wednesday night as part of the MFEA's Tenth Annual STAR Awards Celebration and include high recognition for both the fund complex's Investment Professionals and Individual Investors Web sites.Wells Fargo Advantage Funds received the following nine awards in the Large Company category:

For the second year in a row, the Wells Fargo Advantage Funds Investment Professionals Web site was presented with the Best Advisor Services and Best Advisor Home Page awards. In addition, the Individual Investor site received the Best Planning Center award for the second year in a row.

The MFEA's annual STAR Awards recognize mutual fund companies for outstanding investor communications, education, and support. Each year, the MFEA examines the best educational materials, both in print and electronic, in the mutual fund industry and then asks industry judges to select from the best. In 2006, 30 different companies were recognized for excellence in 28 categories ranging from best annual report to best online innovation and to the coveted best overall award.
